Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Eph 3:20).
I love the story of a pastor’s little boy by the name of Paul. When he was only twelve years old the pastor took his son to Africa. The little boy promised his daddy that one day he would return to Africa to help the poor, sick people of this particular village, as a doctor. The little boy returned home and struggled and struggled through school. Paul went back to Africa in high school and then again in college. So many times he wanted to quit. He finally made it through medical school and he became a surgeon in one of the best hospitals in Arkansas for 17 years and then opened his private practice.
After Pastor John Osteen died, his son Paul shut his private practice down and moved his family to Africa. Today, he is the associate pastor to his little brother Joel at Lakewood church in Houston. He still takes trips to Africa and performs surgeries to poor, diseased villages just like the ones he visited in grade school, high school, and college. When you feel like quitting and giving up remember our God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we could ever ask or think (Eph 3:20).
Meditate for five minutes on this lesson.
Journal one whole page.
Pray this Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your great awesome ability. Sometimes I want to quit. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed, but I know You are able to help me make it through. Help me to be confident in Your love, grace, and ability. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
