Day 18 - God is our Personal Present Tense Provider

And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.   .   . And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided” (Genesis 22:8, 14).
I will never forget how the Lord provided for Danille and I while I was in college. We both agreed and believed in unity that God lead me to Bible College to prepare for a life in ministry. We believed that God would take care of all of my tuition, matriculation, administration, transportation and parking fees. The school required the entire fifteen thousand dollars before the first day of class. So we borrowed the money.
We believed that we could pay the entire loan off in 9 months. We did not have cable television. We did not go to the movies one time. We did not go out to eat one time. There were many times when we could not go anywhere because we didn’t have gas even to go to a friend’s house for dinner. We did honor the Lord with the whole first ten percent of our income, but we lived very frugal along the way. In fact, the Lord provided groceries for us from the local food pantry every Friday.
Down to the wire it came. Two months before school was out, we still owed three thousand dollars. One month before school got out we owed two thousand dollars. The week before school got out we still owed two thousand dollars. We finally paid the entire two thousand dollars one day before graduation. I graduated with a bachelors of arts degree the very next day totally debt free. God is our source. He is Jehovah Jirah. He is our personal present-tense provider.
Don’t be discouraged if you face necessities, lack or shortage. Continue to pray for Jehovah Jirah to provide for you. Even if you pass the dead line, don’t give up, continue to put your hope in God and put your total trust in Him. He is our Jehovah Jirah our personal present-tense provider.

Meditate for five minutes on this lesson.

Journal one whole page.

Pray this Prayer: Father, I thank You for paying the awesome price to redeem me. I invite You into my life to be my personal provider. You are my Jehovah Jirah! In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
